Ukrainian partners

Rinat Akhmetov’s “Development of Ukraine” fund
Rinat Akhmetov’s “Development of Ukraine” fund sponsors two joint projects with Mohyla School of journalism - Digital Future of Journalism (post-diploma course on internet and online journalism for journalsits from leading Ukrainian media outlets) and PhD program in Mass Communication, Digital Media for Universities Programs.

Foreign Universities

Institute of Communications Studies, University of Leeds
In 2002-2006 British journalists and experts taught students of the School.

Ohio University (Athens, Ohio, USA)
Faculty members were exchanged in both directions. A curriculum development process led to the creation of five new courses in the Journalism Master’s Program. Weeklong workshops were conducted each summer for working professionals in Kyiv. Ukrainian channel STB helped in organization of students TV news program.
The US Department of State grant supported this 3-year project.

Towson University (Towson, Maryland, USA)
In cooperation with Towson University we co-organized a 3-year HESP Regional Seminar for Excellence in Teaching, which provides interdisciplinary discussion of media studies for junior faculty from Eastern Europe and the former Soviet Union. This seminar is sponsored by the Open Society Institute (OSI, Budapest).

Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (Barcelona, Spaine)
Since 2009 MSJ has the joint double-diploma PhD Program in Mass Communication with Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona.

Non-government organizations

Institute of Mass Information
A grant from the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs and IMI helped in the organization of a short-term practical training scheme, whereby French journalists come to Kyiv to teach our students and some of our students visit various French media for one-month internships. Previous internships were with the La Croix newspaper (2005), and Radio France International (2006).

Joint project with the Westminster Foundation for Democracy, Thomson Reuters Foundation and the Ukrainian Parliament;

Projects

The “Media Reform” Center
In cooperation with the UK Department for International Development (DFID) we have realized a project which began with the development of the Mediareform.com.ua web-site, and also included organizational, publishing, lobbying and educational activities.

Radio “Кvit”
Radio organized by alumni and students of Kyiv-Mohyla Academy

EJO (European Journalism Observatory) and MSJ partnered to produce EJO site in Ukrainian on the most impotent european communication research.
